Leah’s paintings originate with her childhood visions and strong influence of the Australian “Outback” culture.
After graduating with High distinctions in Painting, Life Drawing and Sculpture, Leah was requested to work as a ‘Screen Artist’ for Australian films. This included ‘South Solitary’ ‘Wabi Sabi’ and more.
Generating increasing attention towards her paintings Leah left the film industry to pursue oil painting full time.
Now residing in Byron Bay in her own studio/gallery, Leah is considered to be one of Australia’s young leading Artists.
In 2012 -2013 Leah staged sell out solo exhibitions in Sydney and the Northern Rivers N.S.W. Additionally amassing an online following of over 10,000 fans.
Leah s paintings frequently subject the bovine. Visually contemplating the ‘ache’ of modernism’ and its inability to satisfy the emotional needs of those that are ‘modernized’, Leah’s cows are sometimes strong, sometimes perplexed, sometimes soulful, sometimes majestic. Always very moving and… Well uncomfortably human in their emotions.
Leah exhibits group and solo shows each year in various locations and galleries across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, North Rivers, Hong-Kong and New York.
Currently represented by V Gallery Wooloomooloo, Red Hill Art Gallery Brisbane , C Gallery Fortitude Valley, Drift Newbar,
Flying Pig Precint, Generator Studios, and her own Gallery Byron Art Vault.
